Health Insurance Deductible Questions

Health Insurance Deductible Questions

Question: Question about Health Insurance ?

Its regarding health insurance. I have my health insurance covering my entire family (me, my wife and a kid).

My health insurance is like this .
2500$ deductible per person , out of the pocket is 7500 for entire family.

I am expecting my next baby in few months (i.e. May). Since the deduct able is very high to me. i am looking for any idea or suggestion to cover the deduct able amount through other insurance provider (i.e. additional insurance) now.

I did tried with few of the insurance provider, all of them declined to cover the pregnancy at this point.

Therefore i wanted to know, is there any way, i can get additional insurance to cover the Deductible Amount through any other insurance provider, who covers pregnancy at this point.

FYI: right now i am into a group insurance, so i am not allowed to change the plan with my existing insurance company and that is the reason i am looking for additional coverage from other insurance company.

Thanks

Question: Is the cost of a live-in, “non-medical” (i.e. not a nurse) caregiver for a disabled person tax deductible?

The doctor certified that the disabled person must have a live-in caregiver; otherwise a nursing home would be the only alternative. The person is 88 years old and wheelchair bound due to pain and weakness from arthritis & spinal stenosis.

Answer: You can include in medical expenses wages and other amounts you pay for nursing services. The services need not be performed by a nurse as long as the services are of a kind generally performed by a nurse. This includes services connected with caring for the patient’s condition, such as giving medication or changing dressings, as well as bathing and grooming the patient. These services can be provided in your home or another care facility.

Only the amount spent for nursing services is a medical expense. If the attendant also provides personal and household services, amounts paid to the attendant must be divided between the time spent performing household and personal services and the time spent for nursing services.

Question: the phrase cheap labor is it a myth, a farce and a lie?

there is no such thing as cheap labor.take for example, an illegal mexican who sneaks in here with his wife and five kids .he takes a job for 5 or 6 dollars an hour. at that wage with six dependents he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, gets an earned income credit of up to 3,200 free.he qualifies for section 8 housing and subsidized rent, food stamps and free no deductible, no co- pay health care.his kids get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and require bi- lingual teachers and books that we the tax payers provide.he doesnt have to worry about car ins, life ins or home owners ins. we the taxpayers provide spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.he cannot be fired, harassed, or sued.he and his family receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in benifits .

Answer: WOW you sure got that right. I had thought making $4 an hour was bad, but, then, they don’t pay taxes, or FICa or Social Security, or medical insurance. WOW I realized after my deductions I make about $3.80 an hour
DAMM WET Backs get more than me.

Question: Medical bills going to court has anyone ever won?

I had gallbladder surgery in late February. My deductible is $5000 with insurance. I p[aid the hospital $1000 upfront before the surgery. I still owe $3500 thereabouts. Husband has been out of work injured on job (no workmens comp no assistance whatesover but we are in applying process for social security) I have four kids and was a stay at homeMom and I have a heart problem. I went back to work fulltime but Im a travel agent so I dont make a lot of money and with mortgage and 4 kids I cant pay this bill (mind you husband has had two hip surgeries so we owe like $50,000 there as well) I told the hospitasl when husband gets disability backpay in a couple months Id pay them in full but they are still sueing me at end of this month is court case. have you ever heard of a judge feeling sorry for a person and throwing the whole case out? I cant pay this bill I can barely pay my mortgage and monthly bills. I was told I cant get govt assistance because Im not an aillegal alien.

Answer: Shame! We always loose, companies win. Go and watch SICKO BY MICHAEL MOORE. USA is the only ‘rich’ country in the world that does not care about their citizens and gives them proper health care. Look Spain, France, Italy, Germany … all of them have FREE and GREAT health care systems, while we here have nothing. You can die and if you do not have insurance, they let you die. Worse than animals!

Back injury can set you on your back and set you back financially

Whether you’re doing heavy lifting as part of your “honey-do list” around the house or simply lifting groceries out of the car, a back injury can set you on your back (literally) and set you back financially. According to a tally of accident insurance claims submitted in 2009 to Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, back sprain or strain was the number-one occurring injury.

Home insurance and rental insurance also provider personal liability protection in the event that someone is injured while on your property or at your home. There are some steps you can take in order to keep home insurance rates affordable for you.

The first thing you should do is talk to an agent from the insurance company with whom you have other insurance policy types (for example your auto insurance). Many insurance providers offer a discount to people who have more than one policy with their company. You will then want to request quotes from several other insurance companies for your review.

Take your time to narrow down the list to the insurance companies offering you policies with the best coverage at the most affordable rates. Visit websites for those companies and perform a Google search to make sure each company has a solid reputation and positive customer reviews. Do not forget to inform insurance companies if your home has flame resistant building roofing materials, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, burglar alarms and other features. You often receive discounted home insurance rates if you have one or more of these features in your home. When shopping for home insurance rates, determine the highest deductible you could afford to pay in the unfortunate event that you would need to file a claim on your home insurance.

If you are able to opt for higher deductibles, this can save you quite a bit of money on your home insurance. Even if you rent rather than own a home, you will want to coverage for your belongings and to protect yourself from any personal liability claims. You should shop around for rental insurance. The approach you take for affordable home insurance rates will be similar to those you use for rental insurance. Talk to your current insurance providers for other policies to determine if they offer rental insurance. Once again, you might be eligible for a multi-plan discount.

Compare rental insurance rates with more than one company so that you can find good coverage at an ideal price. Select the highest deductible that you feel you can afford in order to keep down the cost of your rental insurance premium. Whether you are purchasing homeowner’s insurance or rental insurance, you will need to decide if you want replacement value coverage or actual cash value. Replacement value policies will generally be the more expensive of the two. Replacement value for home insurance will provide you with a payout for the amount needed to rebuild your home (or replace belongings in the case of rental insurance) as it was before it was damaged or destroyed.

An actual cash value home policy will provide you with a payout that is equal to your actual cash value (for your home or belongings) minus depreciation. (You will receive a significantly smaller payout). If you take your time when shopping for home insurance rates, you can find excellent insurance coverage at a price that fits your budget.
