Let’s not get into the socio and economic dynamics of the alleged flu. It not only gravely affected the tourism of Puerto Vallarta but also over 30,000 people lost their jobs, several restaurants and hotels shut down, wholly or in some measure. The street vendors go on days without making any sales irrespective of whatever they are selling. And I wouldn’t sugar coat any complications that the people here at Puerto Vallarta are facing amidst the presence of no welfare, unemployment or no food stamps.

In such situations the movement of the “Food Drive,” that began to provide food packages for all of the families who are suffering, came as a relief and also a savior in Puerto Vallarta. The choice to provide food to all of the families through the wondrous organization called “Child Protective Services” was another miracle because they “do” know best as to which families are most in need of this aid. They have designed five programs with registered people which further authenticate accountability.

The amount of donations that were made to the drop-off points was tremendous; the dominant donator being the PVRPV office on the Southside. Statistical measures were taken and it was calculated that a total of 672 packages of food, containing rice, beans, lentils and pasta, were distributed. Abundant voluntary help for putting these donations into packaging made this optimistic prayer, come true.

On June 1st, when these food packages were actually distributed to the people, it was a great sight to see. It was gratifying to witness how a little push, a small act of unity and generous donations could do for all these families. The receivers for the food packages checked in at a systemized registration desk, got their vouchers, pulled out their bag, gave their voucher at the other end and left with a relief, a smile and most importantly food.

This was the prayer, which has now been answered. It was a much needed reality check for all of those around us to actually wake up and understand the tragedy that was happening to the people of Puerto Vallarta. This “Food Drive” was not only a success but a way to realize that prayers and dreams do have a way of coming true. This journey has just begun. This was just the first distribution of the food packages for all the people who were in dire need, but continuous support and donations from all of you will provide food and livelihood to all those who can no longer fend for themselves.

So please, keep donating and be the answer to the prayers of all these people. GOD Bless us all.

Clothing Tax Deduction Value

Question: How do you best ensure donated clothing receives high value for tax purposes?

I’m reading this thing and it says for example that shirts can be valued anywhere from $2-8 for the purpose of tax deduction.

Do you have to wash and iron the clothes to make them look like new before donating?

I have really good stuff. Most of my stuff is Banana Republic, Armani, J Crew, Gap, Express. It looks cruddy because it’s all wrinkled and dusty.

What’s the best way to ensure my donated goods are valued at a good price?

Answer: You are the one who declares the value. Some thrift shops will provide a value, but you are the one to declare it on your tax return.

Washing and ironing can help if someone else is going to give you a guide for you to use.

It is heartening to know how human organ donation has saved and boosted countless lives. But, nothing can escape from the eyes of money-minded culprits. Human organ trade is illicit in most parts of the world. To be legal, organ donors must follow lawful procedures, moreover Urgency and compatibility of the recipients should be the priority. Afterall, poor people should also be able to afford life-saving organ transplants.

Low cost & availability boosted the business from around the world & has transformed India into one of the largest kidney transplant centres in the world.

Inspite of all the surveillance from the rest of the world, organs are being harvested from executed prisoners.

Lack of proper regulations against organ trade made Israel a central point for the international organ trade.

In the United States, brokers demand higher amount of money for organs from the wealthy patients and usually pay the donors far less.

Extreme poverty in some parts of Egypt led their people to sell their organs for a cheaper price tag. According to the Ministry of Health, mostly Arabs are hunting organs on the black market. In some cases, patients are being dumped on the streets from the illegal clinics while still unconscious, because of doctor’s panic.

In Iran, kidney sales are regulated, which reduces their demand & some countries like Singapore, Belgium, Spain and Austria has presumed consent laws. No matter what, organ donation scandals & theft never stopped raising its heads.

Question: How does tax deductible sponsorship work?

I’m a competitive sailor aiming for the Olympics but I’m struggling to make ends meet funding my campaign. I’ve been trying to find a sponsor but I’ve had no luck so far. I don’t know much about how the financial side of things would work so I haven’t really included anything in the pack i send out about that. I’ve heard that companies may receive a reduction in tax for any sponsorship they give, is this correct and how does it work?

Thanks :)

Answer: Sponsorship is another name for advertising for which a company or individual trader receives tax relief.
