Company Tax Deductions

Question: Is there a company that can do my taxes? I am in Iraq and I have a lot of uncommon deductions.?
I have looked at all of the online sites and I could not find a way to list all of my various deductions. Is there somewhere that I can talk to an actual person and they will file for me?
Answer: I’ve used TurboTax online for years (you don’t even need to go buy the “box”). Just google it and go into their website.
It’s been great. It will walk you through everything. I usually have one of two things I have to go call about to get exact data, but the systems works great. We too have some us usual items.
After you’ve done your first year it will save a lot of your data for the following year so that you will have fewer data entry tasks. Good luck.
If you are in the military, thanks for serving !

Is My Cell Phone Tax Deductible

Question: Self employed-Independent contractor, are these deductible?
This year I’m working as an independent contractor and I’ll be given a 1099 for tax purposes. I’m an umpire for an amateur baseball association. I am absolutely required to have internet access and a cell phone.
I did not have a personal cell phone before I started with this association. Can I deduct the full cost of a cell phone if it is used only for business purposes?
I already have a personal computer and internet access at my house. However, now that it is required for a job, can I deduct the cost of the internet service? What if I buy a new computer, is that deductible as long as I keep the old computer for my personal use?
Note: I do not intend to take the home office deduction because I do not have any one particular area of my house that is designated for business use only.
Answer: Go to a tax expert to have your taxes done. You have a unique situation that justifies the expense. However, I bet they find you more deductions than you could imagine on your own. For instance, do you realize you can deduct the expense of WASHING your uniform? Some situations also allow you to deduct traveling expenses.
I usually do my own taxes…but this year I have a few unusual situations that merit my going to an expert. I have an appointment today.
