Question for the masses: I was (am) a freshman this year in college. I received enough from the Pell grant to cover my tuition, with money left over for books. Now, I’ve already filed my 2008 taxes. This morning while looking over my school info, I see my 1098 from the school, it shows $1880+ in qualified tuition, box 1.

Answer: I have never received a 1098 from pell grant money… However, if you received the form and it lists qualified tuition then I say go for it, I mean – why not? It’s almost guaranteed you’ll get a larger return =)
