Job Search Deductible Expenses

Question: Are job searching expenses tax deductible in Australia?

I am looking for work and am wondering if expenses related to a job search on tax deductible?

Answer: Now this is indeed a very interesting question. In general no.

However, in a recent case Antis v. Commissioner of Taxation (2009) the Fedral Court ruled that deductions could be claimed against Youth Allowance/Austudy because it was a condition of receiving that allowance that the person be activitly study and to do this they had to incur expenses.

Now I would argue that if you are on Newstart, that as it is a condition of payment that you be activitly seeking fulltime employment that there is likewise expenses associated with this and that are therefore deductible.

If you however not receiving Newstart then no they are not deductible.

Very good question

I am a CPA.

Embedded Deductible Hsa

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could send people secret messages, messages that can make people do and feel whatever you want, all in the course of a normal conversation?

If you could persuade and influence people to do or think whatever you like, without them being any the wiser, and all during a normal, quick, and simple conversation?

Behold! Embedded commands!

Embedded commands are commands that you secretly hide within normal sentences, which go unrecognized by the conscious minds of those who you talk to, but slip right into the unconscious mind (the most important part when persuasion is concerned) of anyone you speak to.

There are many ways of using embedded commands, the simplest is just to mark out (with either a slight drop in the tone of your voice, a specific gesture or other sign to be used with the command only) the word which form your command.

for example, the command “learn hypnosis now” could be embedded in the sentence “I don’t know what you want to learn, but with hypnosis you can really make a difference in your future, as well as the here and now,” simply by marking out the words which make up the commands, so it becomes:”I don’t know what you want to learn but with hypnosis you can really make a difference in your future, as well as the here and now.”

Are you beginning to see how you can subtly lace your sentences with embedded commands so secret that no one will realize what you are up to? If you are, congratulations, you are on your way to becoming a master of covert hypnosis, if not, don’t worry, this next trick will really skyrocket your skill with embedded commands!

It’s called “phonological ambiguity” and its seriously sneaky.
basically, as in the English language many words sound the same, but have different meanings (to, too, two) you can enhance you skill at multi level communication buy saying something that they consciously recognize as one thing, but unconsciously recognize as another, and when you mark it out, become a powerful embedded command.

Two useful embedded commands which utilize phonological ambiguity are “like me,” and “by now.”
“like me” can mean both “similar to me”, and the embedded command ‘like me.”
“by now” can be :buy now”, or “by now”, they sound the same, but have totally different meanings.

This is particularly powerful in sales:

“if you, like me, want quality products that you can afford, then by now, you should realize that our products will be perfect for you” on the surface his is just an ordinary sales line, but when you mark out the embedded commands it becomes a killer sentence full of hypnotic power. Do remember to keep your embedded commands short and to the point, and, for greatest effect repeat your embedded commands at least 3 times over the course of several sentences, remembering to mark them out.

Irs Landlord Deductions

The exhaustive cleaning of the property before you enter into new tenancy or after you move out is normally required. The scope of end/start of tenancy cleaning is defined in the tenancy agreement. In case, the cleaning is in the scope of your landlord, then you need not pay for it. Hence, you need to verify the tenancy agreement. As a matter of fact, tenancy agreements are usually designed in such a manner so that the tenant needs to pay for the cleaning.

This is beneficial for the property owner to some extent. The tenants pay for the cleaning activities done by professional cleaners under the supervision of the property owner. During the tenancy period, the property remains under the physical possession of the tenants. The tenants occupy and use the building as per their convenience, even carry out some modifications or alterations so as to accommodate pets, household materials and other items. The tenancy is time bound and expires after some months or years. The end/start of tenancy cleaning is thus of utmost importance so as to make the property ready for the new tenants to move in.

Although, the judgment about the cleaning is a matter of opinion expressed by the tenant and the landlord, you cannot rule out a close inspection. The inspection of the property is done prior to letting it out to check the contents and level of cleanliness. It is advisable to the tenants to be present at the time of such inspections so as to ensure no unwarranted report is generated. Any uncalled for point mentioned in the checking report can affect your security deposit with the property owner.

In case of big rental accommodation, it has been seen that the end/start of tenancy cleaning disputes are on the rise. Sometimes, the tenants are not experienced enough to handle such scenarios. The property owner might also put stringent conditions in the tenancy agreements.

It is advisable to have the premises inspected from independent inspection agencies. You can also avoid the deductions in your security deposit by hiring professional cleaners that are specialist in end/start of tenancy cleaning.
