Question: Where can I go to get a windshield replaced in my Dodge Durango– here’s the catch—- In South Korea, Seoul??
I need my windshield fully replaced and don’t want to go through my insurance because the deductible is 500.
Where can I go to take my foreign SUV in Seoul, South Korea where I would get a good price and not be taken. So far after I contacted the DODGE dealer near Songpa-gu I was quoted 700.00 bucks or 682,000 KRW at some auto glass shop called Young Jin’s Auto Glass….. I think that price is very high.

That is definitely for a new windshield, as you can easily find a used one for about 150-300 max. back in N. America.
As you are in Korea, good luck in finding a used Durango windshield ~ there just isn’t the market for it, and not enough wrecked vehicles. And shipping a used one from the States or Canada would be far too costly. You could try to talk the dealer down in price, but you would likely still pay more than your deductible; or see what they can do on a used window. ($700 for a new window in Korea is not all that bad actually).
However, do some more checking, and don’t rule out some of the smaller shops ~ just be careful and make sure you are getting an OEM part.
Is the damage irreversible? Check to see if it can repaired, as some cracks up to 10 inches long can be fixed. Anyway, I would think you are going to have to shell out and pay the 500 for your insurance; unless of course you can find a used one somewhere.
I know this isn’t exactly what you were looking for, sorry, but I think you are kind of in an uncommon situation. Not many American cars on the road in Korea.
